Dr. Fu completed his undergraduate studies and medical school at Boston University. After residency and chief residency in Pediatrics at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California, he was selected as a Child and Family Health Leadership Training program fellow at the UCLA Center for Healthier Children, Families and Communities, where he received his MPH from the UCLA School of Public Health.
Dr. Fu continues to practice pediatrics as faculty in the Division of General and Emergency Pediatrics at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and has teaching responsibilities for pediatric and family medicine residents, medical students, and public health students as Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Health Services at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and UCLA School of Public Health.
His current research projects focus upon the integration of non-linked large data sets to develop child health and development registries and health trajectory models, tools for measuring impact of ubiquitous computing in clinical settings, and the technical considerations surrounding the development of Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIO).
