Prospective Students
Connections That Count

While our students enroll in the EMPH Program for a two-year program of study, they actually embark on a lifelong journey of growth and learning, accompanied by a strong alumni and professional network, lifelong learning opportunities, and membership in the Healthcare Collaborative.

Dynamic networks

The UCLA School of Public Health is at the center of an extensive network of friends, alumni and colleagues who work in all aspects of healthcare in California, the nation, and across the globe. This network forms an enduring resource for students while they are in the EMPH Program, and as alumni after obtaining their degrees.

Lifelong learning

Graduates of the EMPH Program are welcome to return to audit courses and attend seminars designed to update alumni and students on the latest issues in management and policy. These opportunities are made available to EMPH alumni free-of-charge at any time for the rest of their lives.

The UCLA Healthcare Collaborative (HCC)

The Healthcare Collaborative at UCLA draws on the best of UCLA and the greater Southern California healthcare community, bringing together students, faculty, alumni, and business and public health leaders across a broad spectrum of the healthcare industry at regular gatherings and presentations that take place at both UCLA and at sites across California. The Collaborative is sponsored by the School of Public Health, David Geffen School of Medicine and the Anderson School of Management at UCLA, and counts more than 7,000 members.

The UCLA Health Services Alumni Association

The UCLA Health Services Alumni Association (HSAA) draws its members from the graduates of the UCLA School of Public Health Department of Health Services and its precursor programs such as the Hospital Administration and Health Management programs. As an alumni association, the HSAA serves as a vehicle to link graduates to the Program. In addition, the HSAA supports the Department of Health Services and Health Services students through grants and in-kind services

Student Profiles

Each year, a class of approximately 35 students representing various clinical, managerial and research background is admitted as a single cohort into the Program. The small size and cohort structure promote close collaboration in an intimate learning environment, enabling participants to take full advantage of each other’s knowledge and experience in healthcare and its allied fields.
