The two year curriculum for the EMPH Program is built
around seven main themes, each of which can be described by a cluster
of courses. The major themes are:
Health
Services Content
This set of four courses focuses on the organization
and financing of care and the current issues affecting the healthcare

Management Core Courses
This is the management "spine" of the curriculum, a two-year
linked set of courses that focuses on the practice of management; the
ultimate objective of these four courses and the summer field placement
is to assist the student in developing a personal management style and
strategy by the end of the two-year curriculum: HS234,

Management Content Courses
This set of seven courses and the summer field placement expands and
deepens various aspects of the materials covered in the management core

Finance / Economics Content
This set of four courses focuses on specific skills and knowledge in
the fundamental areas of finance and economics: HS403,

Analytical Skills Content

This set of six courses (four of which make up the School's core curriculum)
is designed to heighten the student's understanding of the community

Personal Development and Career Planning
These exercises and experiences are designed to assist the students
in identifying their own strengths and skills, as well as help them
plan and implement their own career objectives. Students also will be
linked to alumni and community leaders in all parts of the healthcare
industry for information and mentoring.
